Quail Hunting
As a guest of Cottonwoods you will quail hunt through an abundance of natural and manipulated habitat that includes prairie land, row crops, piney woods, cedar groves and sprawling prairie oaks. Our birds rise hard and fly fast to create a caliber of wing shooting that you must experience for yourself.
Cottonwoods will provide you with a professional guide and experienced dogs for your day of hunting. They will lead you from covey rise to covey rise through the 1,600 acres of prime quail habitat. Kennels are available to accommodate those who want to bring their own dogs.
We are open for Quail hunts from October 15 to March 31. Due to our management practices, all hunts are only mechanically assisted and will involve some walking. At Cottonwoods, we believe in preserving the storied heritage of the Southern quail hunt. Safety is our utmost concern, and safe sporting behavior is promoted and expected.

The Lodge
Our 4,000 square-foot camp house is centered in a stand of prairie oaks on the banks of a lake. Six bedrooms, a large great room with custom-built bar, a stone fireplace, hardwood floors and wraparound porch make Cottonwoods the place to unwind after a successful day of wing shooting.
We believe in providing quality experiences, and for this reason, as overnight guests of Cottonwoods, your group will enjoy these fine amenities exclusively. We can sleep and service a maximum of 12 and require a minimum of three.
Relaxing after the hunt, cocktails at the bar, fine dining, spacious bedrooms and gracious hosts will make your stay here a memorable one. So come to Cottonwoods and experience more than the hunt.
Turkey Hunting
Our ongoing timber practices are creating more and more prime turkey habitat. While hunting here you may hunt in large hardwood bottoms, open pine forests, food plots or mature mixed timber. All hunts are guided with knowledgeable and professional guides who will do their best to help you get your bird.
Deer Hunting
The Cottonwoods Lodge will be offering a select number of White-tail deer hunts. Our properties have been managed for years and never hunted for deer. We have done extensive surveys and have decided that we need to start harvesting some of our herd. We are only going to offer trophy managed three day hunts during the month of January here at the Cottonwoods. In the black belt region of Alabama, the full rut peaks during this time so we know that the action will be hot and your chances of taking home a trophy are at their highest. We have numerous food plots and stands to suit your hunting needs. These hunts include meals and lodging in the luxurious Cottonwoods Lodge as well as the cleaning of your harvest for you.
Fishing
All hunting guests of Cottonwoods are free to fish in our 40-acre lake. Full of bass and bream, it is a fit for any age or skill level. As for the bass, there are no monsters to be caught yet, but 4-pounders are not uncommon and the occasional 7-pounder is enough to make you cast again.
Fish in the comfort of our 16’ bass boat in standing timber or any of the many treetops found throughout the lake. Or, fish the overhanging willows and cattail clumps along the bank. If you like spinner bait, worm, top water, or crank bait fishing then this lake is for you. Cottonwoods boasts some of the best bass fishing around and you’ll never get bored catching them on what you enjoy most.
