Welcome to Davis Quail Hunts
Our goal is to provide you with a once-in-a-lifetime quail hunting experience! Truth is, we get as much satisfaction treating our guests to an unforgettable quail and pheasant hunt as they do shooting over our class bird dogs trained and handled by Field Trial Hall of Famer and lifetime quail hunter, Colvin Davis.
Our meticulously groomed grounds offer a diverse array of quail habitat to keep you focused and entertained. The hunts are highly personalized and organized in small groups to ensure plenty of exciting, safe shooting opportunities. There’s an abundance of healthy, fast-flying Bobwhite quail thanks to our pre-release bird program run in early September and supplemented throughout the hunting season. We also offer spring turkey hunting and European-style pheasant hunts.

Class Bird Dogs Make the Difference!
Nowhere will the bird dogs and retrievers give you a bigger thrill than here at Davis Quail Hunts. You’ll be hunting over some of the finest pointing dogs in the country. Superbly trained and handled by your host, Colvin Davis, our pointers are all class — many of them are champions and have competed in the nation’s most prestigious and historic field trials including ”The National Championship” held every year in Grand Junction, Tennessee. In 1991, Colvin steered the great Hall of Fame pointer, Champion Quicksilver Pink, owned by Alabamian Tobe Stallings to her National Championship win. Colvin was twice nominated "Handler of the Year" and three of the dogs he trained and handled won Purina Dog of the Year Awards.
Watching these exciting dogs canvas the country then pinpoint covies is what quail hunting is all about. All our dogs are steady to wing and shot. They’ll hold their exciting pointing posture as the birds flush, giving you the peace of mind to focus on your shooting. Our cocker spaniel, Charlie, will happily do the work of finding your shot birds and give you an extra thrill watching him!

Safety is a Top Priority
Davis Quail Hunts takes special care to review safety procedures with each guest before the hunt, and all guns are stored unloaded in racks on the hunting wagon when in transport or not in use. There is a six-hunter maximum on the hunting grounds with only two shooters permitted at any one time.
Davis Quail Hunts Lodging
After your hunt, you are invited to relax in our newly built private lodge with accommodations for up to six overnight quests. The lodge sits on a hill overlooking picturesque views of the peaceful surrounding countryside. It offers a roomy relaxation area — where details of the day’s hunt can be relived along with stories of old bird dogs and wingshooting memories. Or you can relax, put your feet up and chill out on the expansive porch. Our lodge was designed with our hunting guests in mind — comfortable rooms each have a private bath and if you must bring your computer, we offer free WiFi.
The day isn’t over till you’ve experienced a tantalizingly delicious home-cooked southern meal! Only then can you kick back and watch the sun set to the sweet sound of Bobwhite quail calling.
